Summary:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Program Coordinator, Research Education & Training assists the Program Manager, Research Education and Training in evaluating, analyzing, planning, implementing, tracking and managing special projects of varying length, purpose and complexity. The Program Coordinator, Research Education & Training must have the ability/background to design curriculum, pedagogy, evaluation, and educational research. The Program Coordinator, Research Education & Training will support the creation and implementation of education, evaluation of the approaches to teaching and learning and revision of curriculum to accommodate needs based upon evaluations and feedback. The Program Coordinator, Research Education & Training conducts these assignments in a manner that allows the program to meet performance goals and objectives in an efficient and timely manner by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities.

The Program Coordinator, Research Education & Training will work collaboratively with the Program Manager, Research Education & Training and with the staff and leadership at Region One ESC, GEARUP College Ready, GEARUP College Now, PA TII, Superintendents of various Independent School Districts, and Principals of various schools in the region to develop and implement robust programs for enhancing attendees' interest in research, public health, and career development. The Program Coordinator, Research Education & Training will also assist the Program Manager, Research Education & Training for developing and implementing the Junior Clinical Research Internship program.

POSITION EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Education, Business, and/or Psychology or any other related field; an equivalent of the same in working experience is also acceptable.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents.
  • Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • Ability to draft plans using original or innovative techniques or style.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally as well as through written & electronic communication.
  • Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or staff.
  • Ability to perform complex tasks and to prioritize multiple projects.
  • Ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions.
  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
  • Ability to attain performance levels and meet goals and objectives in a work environment characterized by constant change and demanding workloads.
  • Ability to work as a team member or individually with internal and external stakeholders to achieve goals and objectives. Ability to develop, plan, and implement short and long-range goals.
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Two (2) years of experience related to the duties and responsibilities specified, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency Internet research
  • Microsoft Outlook, Word, Power Point and Excel required. VISIO and Access proficiency are a plus.
  • Knowledge of project management principles and practices and workforce development experience is desired.

Responsibilities:

  • Promotes the program's mission, vision and values by effectively communicating them to others. Considers mission, vision and values in developing services, standards and practices.
  • Seeks input on each special project from all appropriate individuals and entities, including other Senior Leadership staff, the organization's mandatory partners, community-based organizations, the public, training vendors, etc.
  • Assists in coordinating projects within the department and administrative support staff, and external entities as assigned to make the best use of company resources.
  • May assist in the development of strategic and technical plans and budgets required to complete assigned projects.
  • Develops mechanisms to track the implementation of each special project and distributes appropriate project management reports outlining the implementation, status updates and resulting outcomes.
  • Keeps the Program Manager, Research Education and Training apprised of the progress and roadblocks encountered on each project.
  • May assist in evaluating the planning for and implementation of the special projects.
  • Follows up on issues and concerns addressed to the Program Manager, Research Education and Training to ensure that program carries out its responsibilities within prescribed time frames, funding parameters and organizational priorities.
  • May gather, research, analyze, and/or study information affecting the program and/or its service delivery, contractors.
  • Identifies events and trends in customer satisfaction metrics for both internal and external indicators and their impact on operations, with emphasis on impact to collaborators.
  • Represents DHR Health Institute for Research & Development as assigned to gather information and participate in relevant project management discussions.
  • Assists the Program Manager, Research Education and Training in developing policies, objectives, and the program's long-range strategic plan in accordance with the goals and vision created our collaborators.
  • Other duties as assigned.

B. Working Conditions : The individual spends over 95% of his/her time in an air-conditioned environment with varying exposures to noise. There is protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. The position does have low exposure to malodorous, infectious body fluids from patients and some minimal exposure to noxious smells from cleansing agents.

C. Occupational Exposure: This position has minimal to no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues and is an OSHA Category III (although situations can be imagined or hypothesized under which anyone, anywhere, might encounter potential exposure to body fluids). Person who performs these duties are not called upon as part of their employment to perform or assist in emergency medical care or first aid or to be potentially exposed in some other way.
