Summary :
Responsible for performing all diagnostic radiological procedures in a timely manner. Performs procedures according to the physician's orders. As a member of the care team, the Radiology Technologist is responsible for working collaboratively with other members to assure the safe and accurate delivery of patient care. In addition, the Radiology Technologist must be able and willing to cross-train into other appropriate modalities.
POSITION EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS :
- Graduate of an accredited radiology program.
- Current state certification (i.e. Texas Medical Board) required.
- Current American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) general certification preferred.
- American Heart Association BLS certification required.
- American Heart Association ACLS and PALS recommended.
- Must be sensitive to cultural and bilingual issues.
- Secretarial experience and organizational skills are necessary.
- Good verbal and written communication skills required.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English required. Spanish preferred.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of nursing, administration, and physicians.
- Computer knowledge required.

Employees must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in his / her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirement relative to his or her age.
