POSITION EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS:
· Graduate of a Commission of Accreditation for Respiratory (CoARC) accredited school for Respiratory Care
· Bachelor of Science degree in Respiratory Therapy or Education is preferred.
· Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP)
· Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
· Minimum of five (5) years clinical experience required; hospital experience preferred.
· Current BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP Certification required (may obtain within 6 months of hire)
· Must become BLS, ACLS, and PALS Instructor (Sub-specialties may require additional instructor courses)
· Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of nursing, administration, and physicians
Summary
As a Respiratory Therapy Educator, you will be instrumental in enhancing the knowledge and skills of healthcare professionals in the field of respiratory therapy. Reporting to the department head, you will leverage your expertise in physiology, medical terminology, and anatomy to develop and deliver educational programs. Your qualifications, including a Bachelor of Science degree, RRT, and various certifications such as PALS, ACLS, and NRP, will ensure effective training. Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver educational programs for respiratory therapy staff and students.
- Assess and enhance the knowledge of respiratory therapy principles, medical terminology, and anatomy.
- Ensure compliance with certification requirements such as RRT, PALS, ACLS, NRP, and BLS.
- Collaborate with hospital personnel to implement best practices in respiratory care.
- Stay updated on advancements in respiratory therapy to provide current training and resources.
