Job Title: Medical Assistant / Limited Medical Radiography (LMR)
Job Overview: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant with a specialization in Limited Medical Radiography to join our healthcare team. Key Responsibilities:
Medical Assistant Duties:
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, ensuring comfort and safety.
- Obtain medical histories and record vital signs accurately.
- Assist healthcare providers during examinations, treatments, and minor procedures.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by physicians.
- Maintain patient records, manage appointments, and handle billing and insurance inquiries.
- Educate patients on procedures and post-care instructions.
Limited Medical Radiography Duties:
- Perform limited radiographic imaging procedures, such as X-rays, under the supervision of a licensed radiologic technologist or physician.
- Position patients correctly for imaging to ensure optimal results while minimizing discomfort.
- Adhere to radiation safety protocols and guidelines to protect patients and staff.
- Maintain radiographic equipment and ensure proper functioning through routine checks.
- Keep accurate records of imaging procedures and patient information.
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) and/or Limited Medical Radiography certification preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited medical assisting program is a plus.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, clinical procedures, and radiologic practices.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification required.
