SHIFTS: Shifts vary, 0600 - 1600, Monday - Saturday

JOB TITLE: Warehouse Forklift Operator- Kona

JOB SUMMARY: This position is primarily responsible for all areas within the warehouse by performing the following duties.

RELATIONSHIPS: Reports To Warehouse Supervisor
Supervises: n/a

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1) Loads freight on trucks in accordance with delivery schedule code noted by Dispatcher, re-verifies count, and determines the shipment has been loaded on the truck in a manner that will allow safe transport.

Goal: To ensure the proper shipment gets to its ultimate destination intact.

2) Inspects warehouse equipment daily for potential defects requiring repairs and reports same to Warehouse Supervisor. (Maybe limited to designated personnel.)

Goal: To ensure equipment is properly maintained and safe to work with.

3) Assists with deliveries when required.

Goal: To properly service the customer by helping the drivers and/or reducing the driver time at a specified delivery.

4) Determines that all paperwork required for a given task is completed and correct before turning it into the appropriate Manager.

Goal: Ensure, through completeness, that information other employees need to properly fulfill their responsibilities is provided.

5) Fills propane forklift tanks (when needed).

Goal: To minimize dock labor downtime due to forklifts running out of fuel.

6) Performs additional tasks as needed when directed by the Warehouse Supervisor or
Warehouse Manager.

Goal: To help ensure the efficiency/effectiveness of the overall Company in light of the
Company Mission Statement.

AUTHORITY:

1) Recommends equipment repairs to Warehouse Supervisor.
2) Allows customers to sign for damages, shortages, overages, etc.
3) Receives/signs for freight on the Company's behalf.
4) Recommends to Warehouse Manager, operational changes that would improve customer service.

Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Other Skills:
Must be able to operate a forklift.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $23.57 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
