Diabetes Research Institute Foundation (DRIF) is growing! We are looking for a diligent and proactive Controller to join our finance team located in Hollywood, FL. As Controller, you’ll contribute to our vision and mission of curing diabetes by overseeing all financial activities to ensure the integrity of financial reporting and provide strategic financial guidance. The ideal candidate will have a wealthy of knowledge, leadership skills, and a passion for the non-profit sector.
Job Duties:
- Oversee all accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
- Manage the annual budgeting process, including preparation, analysis, and monitoring of budget performance.
- Implement and maintain robust financial controls and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP and non-profit accounting standards.
- Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors.
- Prepare and present financial statements and reports to senior management and the board of directors.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive financial management experience, including at least five (5) years in a non-profit organization.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, non-profit accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems.
- High level of integrity, ethics, and commitment to the mission of the non-profit sector.
- CPA or equivalent certification a plus but not required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of walking, standing, bending, stretching, pushing, pulling, or kneeling
- Prolonged periods sitting at desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time
- Ability to commute to offices and work-related meetings reliably and on time
- Ability to travel as necessary for meetings, conferences and site visitis.
- This role may involve additional hours during peak periods such as the fiscal year-end and audit season.
