Position Summary
The Banquet Houseman at Diablo Country Club is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance of the club's banquet facilities, ensuring a welcoming and comfortable environment for members and guests attending special events and functions. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing exceptional service and support to the banquet team.
Reporting Relationship: Banquet Manager
Work Performed
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of banquet rooms, including tables, chairs, linens, and decorations, according to event specifications.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet spaces before, during, and after events, ensuring a pristine and inviting atmosphere.
- Collaborate with the banquet service team to provide support and assistance as needed, such as replenishing supplies, clearing tables, and refreshing room setups.
- Conduct regular inspections of banquet facilities, identifying and reporting any maintenance issues or areas in need of improvement.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of storage areas, ensuring all banquet supplies and equipment are properly stocked and easily accessible.
- Adhere to all safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards, following established cleaning protocols and procedures.
- Operate and maintain various cleaning equipment and tools, reporting any malfunctions or repairs needed.
- Assist with minor repairs and maintenance tasks within banquet spaces, such as changing light bulbs or fixing minor issues.
- Respond promptly and professionally to member, guest, and team member requests, providing exceptional service and support.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times, representing Diablo Country Club's commitment to excellence.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements for Position:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role within a hospitality or banquet setting.
- A valid food handlers card.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine commitment to providing exceptional service.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, equipment, and products.
- Comfortable working with various cleaning chemicals and solutions.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
- Capable of lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment that requires frequent bending, stooping, and reaching.
- Ability to move and arrange banquet furniture and equipment as needed.
