Position Summary
The Food & Beverage (F&B) Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of all dining venues at Diablo Country Club, including Diablo Pub, Red Horse Tavern, and Colton's, ensuring exceptional service and hospitality for members and guests. This role requires strong leadership, a passion for creating memorable dining experiences, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of service across all outlets. The F&B Manager will foster a positive work environment that values respect, inclusion, and collaboration while ensuring accountability and adherence to club standards. A strong background in beverage management is essential, with the ability to effectively communicate, sell, and train staff on wine, beer, spirits, and bartending techniques.
Reporting Relationship: Servers, Runners, Host/Hostess, Bartenders
Work Performed
- Oversee the setup, preparation, and operation of all dining venues for daily service and special events, ensuring a welcoming and refined ambiance.
- Manage reservations and optimize table assignments to minimize wait times and maximize service efficiency across all venues.
- Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders, maintaining high food quality and presentation standards.
- Lead pre-shift meetings, communicating menu changes, specials, and member preferences to the service staff.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance of all dining areas throughout the day.
- Address member concerns or complaints promptly and professionally, working toward satisfactory resolutions.
- Participate in the selection, training, and development of service staff, providing guidance, coaching, and support to foster a high-performing team aligned with the club's standards and values.
- Collaborate with other managers to ensure consistent service quality and a seamless transition between shifts.
- Oversee opening and closing procedures for all dining venues, ensuring spaces are properly cleaned, organized, and secured.
- Maintain accurate records of reservations, covers, and sales for all shifts and venues.
- Foster an inclusive environment where team members feel respected, valued, and involved in decision-making processes to enhance service and operations.
- Build a culture of trust and cooperation by understanding different perspectives and adapting management style to meet individual needs.
- Set clear expectations, provide regular feedback, and recognize achievements while addressing performance issues constructively.

- Ensure adherence to club policies and values, ensuring all team members understand their roles and responsibilities.

- Utilize in-depth knowledge of wine, beer, spirits, and bartending to enhance member experiences and drive sales.
- Train and educate staff on beverage offerings, including tasting notes, food pairings, and cocktail preparation.
- Develop and implement beverage programs that align with club standards and member preferences.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements for Position:
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a management role within a high-end dining establishment.
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage service, with a focus on breakfast and lunch offerings.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in POS systems and Microsoft Office.
- Valid state food handler's certification.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment that requires frequent bending, stooping, and reaching.
- Capable of lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds.
Salary : $80,000 - $90,000
