Seeking Full time, 30-35 hours weekly, bookkeeping and office support person for our small but busy Specialty Cooling & Mechanical Service business. You will work under full time Staff Accountant / Office Manager. Duties to start include Accounts Payable and Receivable (no collections), generating Work Orders for our technicians, Purchasing, Costing, Reconciliations and Analysis, Inventory and assisting with Invoicing. Office duties include updating service records for equipment we work on, filing, and supporting our service technicians with information needed for both scheduled and emergency work, assistance with conversion to a work order program that integrates with Quickbooks at some point. Occasional errands. Duties over time will progress to taking over invoicing and playing a stronger role in all bookkeeping aspects and general ledger work.
We can offer a somewhat flexible work schedule within a 9 : 00 -6 : 00, M-F framework at our office / shop. There is not a work from home option with this position. Pay range $20 - $35 / hr depending on experience, skills and relevant education.
Requirements :
- Strong math skills including calculation of time and ability to do simple math without a calculator
- Logical mindset, common sense
- Attention to detail and accuracy an absolute must!
- Excellent 10 key skills, by touch, with high accuracy
- Must have hands on accounting experience
- Prefer candidate to have had some college at a minimum (1 to 2 years).
- Comfortable with Quickbooks, Excel & Word
- Access or other database experience a plus
- Strong Internet search skills
- Strong communication (verbal and written). Ability to decipher some of the gibberish our service technicians sometimes write and make it sound professional on an invoice.
- Positive attitude
- Reliable, level headed & hardworking
- Must pass bookkeeping and ten key tests, including calculation of time without a computer app or calculator.
- Desire to learn and ability to seek information but ask questions as needed.
- Willing and able to work in a home office on an agricultural property in NorthEast Walnut Creek in fairly close quarters with one to three other people, one or more dogs (office manager fosters dogs / puppies), and cats in and about the office.
- Prior position with contractor / construction work a plus
- Mechanical / Creative aptitude a plus
