Job Title: Investment Analyst – Biotech/Pharma

Company Summary:

Diadema Partners LP is an equity L/S manager focused on investing across the therapeutics universe from pre-clinical, to clinical, through commercial stage. Diadema operates with a nimble, catalyst-focused approach, seeking to take advantage of the narrow timing of events. We have a high portfolio turnover and opportunistic exposure across market caps with a focus on small and mid-cap companies. We seek to generate alpha on both the long and short side and operate with a target gross of 150-200% and a target net of 0-15% on a delta adjusted basis.

Position Overview:

Diadema is seeking an experienced Biotech Research Analyst to join our investment team. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of buy-side experience specifically focused on biotechnology investments. This role will focus on identifying both long and short alpha-generating opportunities across the entire therapeutics’ universe, with particular emphasis on small and mid-cap companies. This role offers significant opportunity for growth and impact as an early member of our team.

Key Responsibilities:

·        Generate and execute on high-conviction long and short investment ideas across the biotech sector, particularly within the small/mid-cap space

·        Conduct comprehensive fundamental research on biotechnology companies, including detailed analysis of clinical trial data, regulatory pathways, and commercial opportunities

·        Develop and maintain detailed financial models to support investment theses

·        Monitor industry trends, regulatory developments, and competitive dynamics

·        Establish and maintain relationships with industry experts, company management teams, and other relevant stakeholders

·        Work collaboratively with a close-knit team of three other investment professionals to develop and execute investment strategies

·        Share insights and research findings in regular team discussions and contribute to the collective investment decision-making process

·        Track and analyze existing portfolio positions, providing regular updates and maintaining investment theses

Required Qualifications:

·        3-5 years of biotech buy-side experience

·        Proven track record of generating alpha through both long and short positions

·        Strong understanding of drug development processes, clinical trial design, and FDA regulatory pathways

·        Excellence in financial modeling and valuation techniques

·        Bachelor's degree required; advanced degrees (MBA, PhD, MD) or CFA designation preferred

·        Must be able to work full-time in our Morristown, NJ office

Compensation:

The expected base salary range for this position will be $175k to $200k, commensurate with experience and education. In addition, the Investment Associate will be considered for a competitive, annual discretionary bonus and will be eligible for a generous benefits package.
