Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Hours: Four 10 hour week day shifts
Position Summary:

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for preparing, dispensing and administering radiopharmaceuticals and related materials while maintaining records of use, storage and disposal. Operates highly technical instruments processes and analyzes acquired data.
The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal and customer service skills, be highly motivated and patient centered, demonstrate initiative, have excellent communication skills, the ability to multi-task, be detail oriented, and a strong team player. Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform patient imaging procedures using sophisticated radiation-detecting instrumentation
- Accomplish computer processing and image enhancement
- Provide images, data analysis, and patient information to the physician for diagnostic interpretation.
- Gains the patient's confidence by obtaining pertinent history, describing the procedure and answering any questions
- Monitors the patient's physical condition during the course of the procedure
- Notes any specific patient comments which might indicate the need for additional images or might be useful to the physician in interpreting the results
- Follows safety protocols for radiation safety, infection control and patient safety.
- Complies with HIPAA regulations and Corporate Compliance.
- Provides pertinent information concerning patient history, chief complaints/symptoms to Radiologist.
- Practice universal precautions for infection control.
- Possesses IV/Venipuncture competency as required.
- Demonstrates professionalism and accountability.
Qualifications
Education
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Junior College/Technical School
Certification/Registration
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Nuclear Medicine or the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Society
- Basic CPR Certification
Experience
- 1 Year of Nuclear Medicine Experience
Preferred
- 2 Years of Nuclear Medicine Experience
