Diagnostic Pathology Medical Group (DPMG) an independently owned, multispecialty pathology group, has been a leader in delivering quality services to hospitals, clinical laboratories, research institutions and other physician specialties for over 80 years.
Summary: The Director of Finance is responsible for overseeing and managing all financial activities within the organization, including budgeting, forecasting, accounting, investments, and financial risk management. The Director of Finance works closely with the President and other executives to align the company’s financial strategy with its overall business goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following:
- Develop and execute the financial strategy of the company.
- Lead financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes.
- Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations for improvements.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to define business goals and objectives, providing strategic insights.
- Oversee the company’s accounting, financial reporting, and tax compliance.
- Manage capital allocation, cash flow, and working capital.
- Monitor and manage investments and financial risks.
- Ensure proper financial controls and processes are in place to safeguard company assets.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to stakeholders, including the Board of Directors and external auditors.
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP or other applicable standards.
- Lead, manage, and mentor the accounting team.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the finance department.
- Provide guidance and support to other departments on financial matters.
- Lead financial presentations and quarterly earnings calls, ensuring clear communication of financial performance.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises employees in the Accounting department.
Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA, CPA or CFA is a plus. Experience in a healthcare setting is strongly preferred. Progressively responsible experience in financial management, with demonstrated success in a senior leadership role.
Computer Skills: Proficiency in financial software and systems, ERP platforms, and advanced Excel.
