- Status - Fulltime- Hourly- non-exempt.
- This is a float position that will float between our 2 Greensboro, NC facilities and our Burlington, NC facility.
- RVT Certification preferred with experience working with thyroid biopsies
- 5 days weekly (Monday-Friday)
- 36-40 hours per week.
Description
The Sonographer provides quality care to patients undergoing Ultrasound procedures. Demonstrates full knowledge of Ultrasound procedures and equipment. Sonographer needs to hold Registered Vascular Certification and have experience working with thyroid biopsies.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform general and vascular studies
- Assist during biopsies and with collections specimens
- Facilitate the patient experience by greeting patients, explaining pre and post procedure instructions, and verifying patient’s identity. Utilize AIDET Principles in all patient and provider encounters.
- Perform ultrasound exams using proper protocols and positioning techniques, transporting patients safely, verifying accuracy of orders and documenting patient information.
- Document the patient’s exam through data entry, report retrieval, scanning and recording the exam details in the electronic medical record system.
- Conduct environmental and safety procedures including cleaning and sterilizing the exam room and equipment. Evaluate and maintain supply levels and practice safe patient maneuvers.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge and licensure through educational workshops, professional publications and societies.
Qualifications
Education: Associate’s Degree or Graduate of Radiology, Imaging or related educational program in Ultrasound Technology or Sonography
Experience: 3 to 5 years’ vascular ultrasound experience
Knowledge: Consistently model AIDET principles, service excellence and service recovery. Consistently demonstrate commitment to safe practices while abiding by all OSHA and HIPAA guidelines.
Skills: Basic computer skills including Email and ability to comprehend and utilize Electronic Medical Record System and PACS Systems. Use of Ultrasound equipment, disinfection unit and general office equipment.
Licensure/Certification: Board Certified in Ultrasound Technology or Sonography; member in good standing. ARDMS certification required. RVT Certification Preferred.
Physical requirements: Occasional lifting, carrying or pulling. Frequent or constant pulling motion.
Conditions of employment: CPR Certification, compliance with OSHA and HIPAA guidelines and all required Personal Protective Equipment.
