Summary
As a Junior Test Technician at Diagnostic Solutions International, LLC at our Wilmington, North Carolina facility you will be an integral part of our team, assisting in the assembly and testing of critical components for aircraft systems. This role is essential in supporting our mission to deliver high-quality technical services and solutions to enhance aircraft performance.
Responsibilities
- Build cable assemblies using various hand tools and fixtures. Tasks include, but not limited to terminating, splicing, and soldering of wires. Insertion of wires into connectors, applying conduit, and encapsulating connectors.
- Verify standards are correct and product meets required specifications according to blueprints or process instructions.
- May package products as necessary.
- Inspect assemblies for defects during various stages of production.
- Perform tests as required on cable assemblies.
- Participate in production improvement initiatives.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Follow established safety and ergonomic standards.
- May be called upon to perform comparable duties of a similar or related nature and/or assist in other areas as needed.
- Strong ability to shift from one task to another to address changing production priorities.
- Cross train into other skill sets in order to facilitate flexibility in production.
- Learning, understanding, continuously improving, and promoting the division’s quality management system in accordance with ISO standards.
- Assist in the assembly of mechanical components using hand tools and power tools.
- Conduct tests on assembled components to ensure functionality and compliance with specifications.
- Support the fabrication process by preparing materials and components as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace within the manufacturing facility.
- Collaborate with senior technicians to troubleshoot issues during assembly or testing phases.
- Document test results and assist in maintaining accurate records of work performed.
- Follow safety protocols while operating equipment such as forklifts and other machinery.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Good working knowledge of ESD requirements.
- Previous cable assembly experience is helpful.
- Team player who is self-motivated, and has ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work at a fast pace efficiently.
- Ability to use hand tools, soldering irons, and press equipment.
- Ability to read blueprints and work instructions, and maintain accurate records.
- Basic computer skills necessary.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership staff.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to assemble components accurately following detailed instructions.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and basic manufacturing processes is a plus.
- Experience in a factory or manufacturing facility environment is preferred but not required.
- Basic understanding of safety protocols related to equipment operation.
- Willingness to learn from experienced technicians and take on new challenges.
