What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Coordinator (RSVP) position at Diakon?

General Responsibilities:
- Implements the plan for recruitment, enrollment, orientation to RSVP and placement of Senior Volunteers within community agencies and/or RSVP.
- Maintains a working relationship with the assigned volunteer stations to insure volunteer and station satisfaction.
- Arranges for orientation, training and benefits upon placement of volunteers.
- Maintains current records and information on assigned volunteers and stations; assists with documentation and collection of project data.
- Education/Training: A Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Human Services, Education, Environmental or a related field normally required; or the equivalent of an appropriate combination of education and work experience.
Experience: A minimum of two (2) years' experience in the fields of human services or volunteer administration or related position preferred.
ADA: Ability to sit, stand, bend, stoop, reach, and lift items weighing up to 25 lbs.; visual and auditory skills.

Staff receive excellent training through a comprehensive paid general orientation including customer service training. We offer continuing training and education, provide the ability for career advancement, and host staff appreciation and special events. Diakon also maintains a discretionary emergency fund, which can be of assistance to staff members during critical times. In addition, Diakon offers a Love of Thy Neighbor Fund, which provides a per-day living expense and matches up to five PTO days for approved service or mission trips with other nonprofit organizations.
