Artisanal Cannabis Candy Packager
Dialed In...Gummies is seeking dependable Candy Packagers! We will be opening in Missouri mid March -early April.
The artisanal candy packager is responsible for waxing, de-molding, and packaging cannabis infused candy. They are a direct report to the Director of Operations and are essential to manufacturing and packaging confectionery products. Through training and development, they maintain SOP’s (standard operating procedures). They package, inspect, sticker, label, wax, and de-mold gummies. Clean, sanitize and shut down the packaging department and equipment as needed. This team member aligns seamlessly with our core values, they hold no ego, are accountable for keeping themselves safe and motivating others around them to do the same. They acknowledge individual and team mistakes as well as own them as opportunities for improvement.
Essential Duties and Tasks:
- Responsible for the packaging of various candy
- Identify and inspect raw materials and finished goods to verify they meet specifications
- Comprehend flow and basic room functionality
- Sort, label, package and palletize finished goods
- Inspects room and equipment and verifies operational status and cleanliness
- Set up, operate, adjust, clean, sanitize and shut down packaging machine and work room area
- Observes product quality and identifies non-conforming material as necessary
- Verifies proper materials are being used for the correct job and batch number using the batch sheet
- Executes daily and weekly production schedules per direction of supervisor
- Meet daily production goals and standards
- Comply with all company Quality and Food Safety Standards
- Maintain a clean and safe work area and ensure proper sanitation procedures are adhered to
- Communicate with Lead or Director of Operations as necessary
- Must be able to work on a moving production line and around heavy machinery
- Operate tray racks, pop molds and other material handling equipment
- Identify and communicate problems and production issues in a timely manner
- Interpret and adhere to all stand operating procedures (SOP’s)
- Must be able to work seamlessly with others on the packaging team
- Maintains and updates batch sheets
- Remove products from racks, place them in tins, label, sticker and package for delivery
- Identify and mark materials, products and samples following instructions
- Clean and maintain machinery, equipment, racks, molds and ensure proper functioning and safe working conditions.
- Ability to wear PPE for the duration of shift (masked at all times when in the lab)
- Ability to cross train in other areas of production, distribution, and kitchen areas as needed
Experience and Requirements:
- Hard worker who is a self-starter, proactive and has attention to detail
- Knowledge of processing and packaging
- Read, write, and speak English
- Basic math skills - add, subtract, multiply, and divide
- Read and interpret weight scales
- Excellent interpersonal skills-must be a team player
- Must have an excellent work ethic and be a self-starter
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to repeatedly push, pull, and bend throughout the duration of the shift
- Must be 21 years old and have valid Missouri MED Badge
- Prior food manufacturing, cooking, preparation and packaging experience is preferred, but not mandatory.
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Successfully meet Safe Serve standards
- Must consent to and successfully pass a background check
