Nutrition Services for Patients
The Dietitian provides personalized nutritional services to patients, aiming to maximize their well-being and improve outcomes as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitoring patient data to determine the need for timely interventions and follow-ups.
- Reviewing patient lab work and making individualized recommendations to diet and bone medications.
- Recommending therapeutic diets considering cultural preferences and changes in treatment based on the patient's nutritional needs in consultation with the physician.
- Counseling patients, family members, and significant others on prescribed diets and monitoring adherence and response to diet therapy.
- Referring patients for nutrition resources such as financial assistance, community resources, or in-home assistance.
- FOLLOWING FEDERAL AND STATE REGULATIONS.
- Collecting patient data to assess nutrition status.
The Dietitian conducts comprehensive nutrition assessments with an educational component within 30 days from patient admission to dialysis facility. Annual reassessments are conducted, or more often if indicated.
The Dietitian participates in monthly clinics with patients and family members to review prescribed diets and dietary compliance, adjusting bone medications per protocol and in conjunction with the Physician.
The Dietitian is available to address questions and concerns regarding dietary non-compliance and weight gain. The Dietitian also provides education to staff on the nutritional care of patients.

Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Registered Dietitian certification with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
- Current State Licensure required.
- Dietitian experience in the Dialysis field is preferred.
Experience and Required Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
- Productive and resourceful with meeting deadlines.
