What are the responsibilities and job description for the Home Dialysis Educational Specialist position at Dialyze Direct?
At Dialyze Direct, our mission is to improve patients’ lives through gentler, more frequent dialysis care and we have developed a model of care that allows patients to benefit from our home dialysis services in the comfort of their own homes. We are seeking a skilled and computer-savvy Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Training and Education team as a Clinical Educator focused on supporting our Home Program. The Clinical Educator plays a vital role in ensuring our healthcare professionals are well trained and equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to provide exceptional patient care.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
As part of the Training and Education team, you will support all training goals, including
- Collaborate to design and develop effective resources and training programs, both in person and virtual, for dialysis staff;
- Provide orientation and mentorship to new dialysis staff, ensuring they are integrated smoothly into their roles;
- Participate in the competency assessment of dialysis staff and provide ongoing support for skill development;
- Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to dialysis care; and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of clinical education within the organization;
- Develop and implement resources and training programs to ensure all home staff are equipped with the knowledge and skills to provide patient training/education and care to home patients;
- Plan and deliver initial and ongoing training to Home Program staff, ensuring completion of assignments and all required documentation;
- Collaborate with Lead Home Training Nurse and Operations Leadership to assess current staff competencies and identify new staff for training;
- Stay updated on changes to the program and collaborate across departments to continuously improve patient care and staff education and;
- Maintain a positive and respectful attitude.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- 12 months of RN experience
- 3 months of hemodialysis
- Minimum 3 months of NxStage machine experience
- Experience with home hemodialysis equipment and policies/procedures is preferred
