Programming & Scheduling:
- Work with the Planning team to determine production schedules and program required parts for laser cutting operations.
- Interpret engineering blueprints and create flat pattern layouts for laser cutting.
- Program and maintain current file revisions of all parts to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Optimize cutting paths and nesting to reduce material waste and improve machine efficiency.
Quality & Process Improvement:
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections to verify compliance with specifications and quality standards.
- Make machine and tooling selections to manufacture parts in the most cost-effective manner.
- Identify and implement scrap reduction strategies and recommend process improvements to management.
- Work with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing or assembly issues.
Production Support & Safety:
- Actively participate in all aspects of production when and where needed to ensure workflow continuity.
- Monitor laser machine performance, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with maintenance teams to minimize downtime.
- Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience in laser cutting, CNC programming, or sheet metal fabrication.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software for programming (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, SigmaNEST, or similar).
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T, and flat pattern development.
- Knowledge of material properties and their impact on laser cutting parameters.
- Ability to analyze and improve manufacturing processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with fiber and CO₂ laser cutting machines.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices.
