What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dispatcher/Purchaser/Fleet Assistant position at Diamond Contracting LLC?
Position Summary:
We are a commercial subcontractor specializing in high-quality grading, paving, and concrete work. We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented and experienced candidate to join our team and ensure effective cost controls and smooth day-to-day operations by coordinating materials, equipment, and deliveries. The ideal candidate will have experience in these areas and building vendor relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dispatch Coordination: Schedule and dispatch concrete crews, trucks, and equipment to job sites.
- Purchasing: Source and order materials, tools, and supplies while maintaining cost control. Provide purchase orders (P.O.s) to vendors.
- Vendor Management: Communicate with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and negotiate pricing.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and provide documents for materials stored at job sites.
- Logistics Planning: Optimize routes and schedules for material deliveries and crew dispatch.
- Communication: Serve as a key point of contact between field teams, suppliers, and project managers.
- Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate documentation and logs of orders, rentals, subcontractors, deliveries, and inventory levels and are up-to-date daily. Approve invoices and record receipts on logs.
- Fleet Maintenance: Maintain fleet maintenance logs and coordinate with drivers for maintenance. Maintain cost reports for each fleet item.
- Maintain Repair Logs: Track repairs on equipment and maintain documentation.
Other Duties:
- Ensure compliance with company policies and optimize department efficiency.
- Create expense reports and credit card receipt reports for field superintendents.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Qualifications:
- Construction industry 1 year (Preferred).
- High School Diploma or GED required, degree a plus.
- Bilingual (Spanish) necessary.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Basic knowledge of concrete mix designs and any issues related to design compatibility or pricing.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a challenging environment.
Job Type:
- Full-Time, Day shift Monday-Friday.
- Competitive hourly pay based on experience. $19.00-$23.00/hr.
- Performance-based bonuses and incentives.
