Position Overview:
We are looking for a hands-on Deck Installer Foreman with proven leadership in the field and a deep understanding of DSPS (Department of Safety and Professional Services) Deck Codes. This role is responsible for running deck builds from layout to final inspection, managing a crew, and ensuring projects meet all code, safety, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee crew members on-site during all phases of deck construction
- Read and execute from blueprints, plans, and job specifications
- Ensure all work is 100% DSPS Deck Code compliant and passes local inspections
- Manage project timelines, materials, and daily worksite operations
- Coordinate with clients, project managers, and inspectors professionally
- Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient job site at all times
- Provide hands-on training and mentorship to crew members
- Track project progress and report daily updates and time logs
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of deck building and framing experience
- At least 2 years of supervisory or lead carpenter experience
- Expert understanding of DSPS Deck Code requirements
- Ability to lead a crew and manage multiple job sites
- Proficient with framing, footings, decking, railing systems, and stairs
- Ability to lift 80 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent; trade certifications a plus
