This person will play a crucial cross-functional support role for both our editorial and social media teams. The ideal candidate is an adaptable problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced digital media environment and can juggle shifting priorities, tight deadlines, and diverse responsibilities with ease.

- Support day-to-day execution of editorial and social media strategies
- Conduct fast, accurate research and background sourcing for breaking news, trending news and features
- Perform fact-checking across a wide range of stories, including news, politics, entertainment, and social justice
- Collaborate with editors on story planning, development, and content packaging
- Coordinate scheduling and logistics for interviews and special projects
- Write or top-edit headlines, social copy, and other content as needed
- Monitor trends and provide timely pitches or insights
- Assist with sourcing visual assets (images, video clips, embeds) and ensuring proper usage rights
- Maintain shared calendars, databases, contact lists, and editorial tracking systems
- Handle outreach to sources, experts, publicists, and organizations
- Serve as a utility player and reliable extra set of hands during breaking news or high-volume days
