What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy Technician position at Diamond Drugs, Inc.?
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Packages and labels unit dose drugs under supervision of pharmacist.
2. Obtains and counts appropriate medication placing into approved container leaving dispensing container and bulk container for pharmacist verification.
3. Records manufacturer and lot number on prescriptions.
4. Reorders drugs as needed.
5. Informs pharmacist when discrepancies are found or decisions need to be made.
6. Bags orders to be sent to homes.
7. Checks delivery sheet vs. prescriptions sent to verify that all meds are being sent to correct facility.
8. Communicates to appropriate personnel special inventory needs.
9. Performs additional purchasing and inventory control activities as directed by supervisor.
10. Keeps pharmacy area neat and clean.
11. Performs other duties as required by supervisor.
12. Maintains a neat and clean personal appearance.
13. Maintains the confidentiality of all patient and company information.
Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma
Experience/Knowledge:
* High degree of accuracy for detail work
* Ability to organize one's own work
* Reliability and Honesty
Physical Requirements:
In an 8 hour day the employee:
A. May lift/carry 0-20 lbs frequently
B. Stands/walks 100% of the time
C. Sits 0% of the time
D. Drives a car/truck 0% of the time
