What are the responsibilities and job description for the Utility Foreman position at Diamond Engineering?
Diamond Engineering is a long-standing construction company with our office located in Grand Island. For the past 100 years, Diamond Engineering has been paving roads, building bridges, installing underground infrastructure, and installing telecommunications throughout the Midwest. Previous experience is preferred. In general, candidates should possess a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening. Additionally, candidates should be able to work long hours on their feet, lifting heavy objects several times a day.
Job Responsibilities Include:
- Minimum 2 years supervisory experience on a utility crew.
- Maintain a clean and safe jobsite at all times.
- Lead a crew in the construction of sanitary sewer, storm sewer and water main.
- Build concrete structures such as curb inlets, area inlets and junction boxes.
- Experience in reading plans and understanding construction staking.
- Experience operating a variety of construction equipment including excavators, front-end loaders, skid-steers, tractor backhoes and compactors.
- Train new crew members.
Communicate ideas for improving company process with a positive and constructive attitude.
- Interact with clients, owners, engineers, inspectors and the public in a professional manner.
- Some projects may require to be out of town.
