We are seeking a skilled and proactive Equipment Maintenance Technician to join our team at our Fremont location. This role is crucial in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our production equipment, including complex systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. Laser experience is a significant bonus. Navy Nuclear Machinist's Mates (MMs) and Electrician's Mates (EMs) are highly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Preventive & Corrective Maintenance: Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and respond to equipment breakdowns promptly and efficiently.
  • Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment malfunctions using schematics, manuals, and diagnostic tools.
  • Equipment Repairs & Upgrades: Perform repairs, replacements, and upgrades to equipment, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Documentation & Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and spare parts inventory.
  • Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment and proper equipment operation.

Qualifications:

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, with experience in troubleshooting and repairing complex equipment.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions efficiently and effectively.
  • Technical Documentation Skills: Ability to read and interpret schematics, manuals, and technical documents.
  • Maintenance Experience: Proven experience in equipment maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Relevant Training/Education: Technical degree or certification in a related field, or equivalent experience. Laser experience is a bonus. Navy Nuclear MMs and EMs are highly encouraged to apply.
Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s job duties, experience, and location. We will also consider higher-level candidates and salary will be adjusted accordingly.

Manufacturing and Engineering Departments Physical Requirements:
  • Use appropriate PPE and follow all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
  • This position will often: Sit, stand for long periods, walk, grasp, reach with hands and arms, lift below and above shoulders, bend, twist at the waist, climb, balance, stoop, squat, kneel, crawl, talk, hear, see, use fine finger manipulation, and complete repetitive motions.
  • Some tasks may require the use of ladders or stairs
  • Some tasks may require driving or the use of foot controls
  • Lift/carry and push/pull up to 50 pound
