Summary:
This combined role encompasses the essential functions of a Host, Food Runner, and Busser, ensuring a smooth and positive dining experience for our guests. You will be the first and last point of contact, responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere, efficiently delivering food, and maintaining a clean and organized dining area. This position requires excellent customer service skills, the ability to multitask, and a strong work ethic.
Job Description:
Hosting:
- Warmly greet guests upon arrival and escort them to their tables, providing menus and introducing the server.
- Manage the waitlist (if applicable), accurately estimating wait times and communicating with guests.
- Answer phone calls and take reservations, managing the reservation system effectively.
- Maintain a clean and organized host stand area.
- Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.
Food Running:
- Deliver food orders from the kitchen to the correct tables promptly and accurately, ensuring proper presentation.
- Verify that each dish matches the order ticket before serving.
- Communicate clearly with kitchen staff and servers regarding order status and special requests.
- Handle food and beverages with care, following proper sanitation procedures.
- Be knowledgeable about menu items and ingredients to answer guest questions.
Bussing:
- Clear tables efficiently and thoroughly after guests have finished their meals.
- Reset tables according to restaurant standards, ensuring they are clean and properly set for the next guests.
- Transport dirty dishes to the dishwashing area.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the dining area, including floors, tables, and chairs.
- Assist with other cleaning tasks as needed, such as wiping down menus, refilling condiment stations, and emptying trash receptacles.
