We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Kennel Manager to oversee the daily operations of our kennel facility. This role requires excellent leadership skills, a deep understanding of animal behavior, and the ability to maintain a clean and safe environment for both pets and staff.
Duties
- Supervise and train kennel staff in animal handling, care, and safety protocols.
- Ensure proper feeding, grooming, and exercise routines for all animals.
- Manage scheduling for pet boarding, training sessions, and veterinary appointments.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kennel facility.
- Monitor animal health and behavior, reporting any concerns to veterinary professionals as needed.
- Implement training programs for staff on dog training techniques and animal restraint methods.
- Develop positive relationships with pet owners through effective communication and customer service.
- Oversee inventory management of pet supplies and equipment.
Experience
- Proven experience in animal handling within a kennel or similar environment is required.
- Background in veterinary assistance or as a veterinary technician is preferred.
- Familiarity with dog training techniques is beneficial.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as necessary for animal care tasks.
- Experience in pet grooming is a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for maintaining high standards of animal care.
