Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Phlebotomist for a full-time role, working Monday through Friday from 11 AM to 7 PM. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurate and timely specimen collection, maintaining patient safety, and ensuring compliance with all laboratory procedures and regulations.
Job Responsibilities
- Patient Verification: Accurately verify test requisitions by comparing them with nursing station logs and resolving discrepancies with facility personnel.
- Specimen Collection: Perform venipunctures with precision and care while ensuring patient comfort and adherence to aseptic techniques.
- Safe Transportation: Maintain personal safety and proper specimen handling during transport; track mileage as instructed by management.
- Specimen Integrity: Follow department protocols and isolation procedures to maintain sample quality and prevent contamination.
- Documentation & Tracking: Accurately document collected specimens, including initials, date, and time of collection.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by adhering to legal and industry standards.
- Data Entry: Utilize laboratory information systems to accurately input sample acquisition details.
- Professionalism & Community Service: Serve as a representative of the organization by maintaining professional conduct, adhering to policies, and ensuring high-quality service.
- Enhancing Laboratory Reputation: Take initiative in upholding high standards in phlebotomy services and patient care.
