Responsibilities
- Perform total joint replacement surgeries, including hip, knee, and shoulder arthroplasty procedures, with precision and adherence to best practices.
- Diagnose and treat disorders affecting bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, and muscles, mainly focusing on patients requiring joint replacement.
- Provide preoperative and postoperative care, including patient consultations, surgical planning, and follow-up visits to ensure successful recovery.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physical therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to develop comprehensive treatment plans for patients.
- Use the latest technology and techniques to improve patient outcomes, including minimally invasive and robotic-assisted surgery when applicable.
- Educate patients and their families on orthopedic procedures' risks, benefits, and expected outcomes to ensure informed decision-making.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance surgical outcomes and patient satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care, surgical procedures, and follow-up evaluations.
- Stay current with developments in orthopedic surgery and joint replacement techniques by attending conferences, participating in continuing education, and engaging in professional development.
- Uphold safety standards and adhere to all hospital policies, protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of an accredited orthopedic surgery residency program.
- Fellowship training in orthopedic total joint arthroplasty or related subspecialty.
- Board certification or eligibility in orthopedic surgery.
- Valid state medical license and ability to practice in Kansas City.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in orthopedic surgery, with a focus on joint replacement procedures.
- Proficiency in performing hip, knee, and shoulder arthroplasty, including the use of advanced surgical techniques (e.g., minimally invasive and robotic-assisted surgery).
- Strong clinical and diagnostic skills in treating musculoskeletal disorders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to educate patients and collaborate effectively with healthcare teams.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with the latest advancements in orthopedic surgery.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment while delivering high-quality patient care.
- Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5 PM.
- $400,000 - $600,000 per year.
- 2 weeks of PTO in the first year, 3 weeks after the second year.
- One week of sick days.
