Product Development Technician
The Product Development Technician reports to the Director of Engineering and is responsible for supporting product development activities in the R&D / validation shop. They will be tasked with understanding project deliverables, building products for testing, creating testing setups for engineering projects and the products. This position will be directly involved with first-build products, provide feedback and input on the next generation of Diamond products in the development and validation stages, and will offer future advancement opportunities for the right candidate with our rapidly growing company.
Key Roles
Assemble new first-time tractor configurations
Provide support to the Project Engineers with new designs and fitment validation
Identify and communicate potential improvements related to design to the engineering team
Build prototype assemblies for validation activities
Create and assemble new or modified products for validation activities
Operate equipment and testing units for validation as instructed
Support Engineering staff with testing of components and systems
Provide support to Engineering as assigned with the development, and testing of Diamond Mowers products
Acquire data for validation of products, by performing field and shop tests by instruction
Ensure a safe work environment is maintained
Complete facility and equipment improvements assigned
Participate in a team environment to address challenges and help communicate safety first
All other duties assigned performed as necessary
Responsibilities
- Able to hold forklift certification and understand the operation of construction or agricultural equipment
- Physical job requirements for 8-hour shift, active and stand majority of shift with bending, stooping and lifting
- Proper knowledge in use of hand and power tools, great mechanical skills with a “hands-on” aptitude is a plus
- Able to manage multiple priorities and understand and adapt to changing deadlines, organize and able to conduct work assignments as applicable
- Ability to communicate effectively within the DM team
- Be an excellent self-starter with minimal direct supervision - all activities will be planned through the Validation Engineer
- Ability to travel up to 15% of total time for testing validation and project field support
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or a High School diploma and an excellent mechanical aptitude, production shop or experience as a mechanic a plus
2 years previous experience in a mechanical production or assembly setting
Strong understanding of the OEM equipment builds and/or repair process
Able to read and interpret prints, schematics and instructions and provide feedback

Location: 350 E 60th St N
Hours: 8:00-5:00
Days of Shift: Monday-Friday
