Key Responsibilities:
Project Oversight:
- Manage all phases of construction, from site preparation to final inspection, for projects with significant budgets.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure adherence to project specifications.
Team Leadership:
- Supervise onsite personnel, including subcontractors and laborers, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality output.
- Conduct daily meetings to discuss project goals, safety protocols, and schedules with the team.
Quality Control:
- Ensure all work complies with industry standards, building codes, and project specifications.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor quality and address issues as they arise.
Schedule and Budget Management:
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, adjusting as necessary to address delays or changes in scope.
- Monitor project costs and resource allocation to ensure compliance with budgetary constraints.
Safety Compliance:
- Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures on-site, ensuring compliance with OSHA and local regulations.
- Conduct safety meetings and training sessions to promote a safe work environment.
Client and Stakeholder Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on project progress and addressing concerns.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals and expectations.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of project progress, including daily logs, reports, and change orders.
- Prepare and submit regular reports to upper management regarding project milestones and challenges.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- 2 years of experience as a superintendent in ground-up commercial construction, specifically for projects with budgets of $20 million or more.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations applicable to large-scale projects.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in construction management software and tools.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
