Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Construction Estimator to join our Cheyenne, Wyoming office (you can live in Northern Colorado). This role involves preparing detailed estimates for a variety of civil projects, including infrastructure, earthwork, and utility installations. Reporting to the Estimating Manager, the ideal candidate will leverage their expertise to produce accurate estimates and contribute to winning bids for a range of challenging and rewarding projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects, including analysis of drawings, specifications, and project scope.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather the necessary information and assess project requirements.
- Perform quantity takeoffs, pricing, and cost analysis for materials, labor, and equipment.
- Review and analyze bid documents, site conditions, and contract specifications to ensure accurate and comprehensive estimates.
- Prepare proposals, budgets, and schedules, working within tight deadlines to support project timelines.
- Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers, obtaining competitive pricing and quotes.
- Review and understand relevant industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and market conditions.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in estimating for heavy civil construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of civil construction scopes, including grading, paving, utilities, earthwork, bridges, and highways.
- Proficiency in estimating software.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.

Salary : $145,000 - $160,000
