The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all operational aspects of electrical construction projects within multifamily buildings. This role requires extensive experience in electrical construction, strong leadership skills, and the ability to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the overall operations of electrical construction projects for multifamily buildings from initiation to completion.
- Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure efficient and effective project execution.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients to understand project requirements and deliverables.
- Oversee the scheduling, planning, and procurement of materials and equipment.
- Monitor project progress, performance, and compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Manage subcontractor relationships and ensure adherence to project specifications and timelines.
- Conduct regular site visits to inspect work quality, resolve issues, and provide guidance.
- Prepare and present regular progress reports to senior management and clients.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and building codes.
- Implement and enforce company safety programs and conduct safety training as needed.
- Lead and mentor project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical construction, with at least 5 years in a managerial role overseeing multifamily building projects.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction methods, materials, and building codes.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale multifamily electrical projects.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and other construction documents.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions quickly under pressure.
- PMP certification or equivalent is preferred.
- OSHA 30-hour certification or equivalent is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
