We are looking for an experienced Heavy Civil Construction Project Manager to lead and oversee complex heavy civil construction projects, including infrastructure development, highways, bridges, dams, and large-scale earthworks (experience with CDOT is preferred). The ideal candidate will be responsible for the successful planning, execution, and completion of projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning & Execution:
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Oversee all phases of construction, from pre-construction planning to final closeout.
- Coordinate with engineers, architects, and stakeholders to ensure project specifications and goals are met.
- Budget & Financial Management:
- Prepare, manage, and track project budgets, ensuring cost control and profitability.
- Review and approve cost estimates, change orders, and subcontractor bids.
- Monitor financial performance and implement corrective actions as necessary to stay within budget.
- Team Leadership & Coordination:
- Lead and manage construction teams, including subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site personnel.
- Assign tasks, set clear project goals, and monitor team performance to ensure efficient workflow.
- Foster a collaborative and productive working environment, ensuring effective communication across all project participants.
- Quality & Safety Management:
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Implement and enforce rigorous quality control procedures to maintain high standards throughout the project.
- Promote and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
- Client & Stakeholder Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on project status and addressing any concerns.
- Prepare and deliver progress reports, presentations, and documentation to clients and senior management.
- Manage client expectations and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Risk Management & Problem Solving:
- Identify and assess project risks, developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
- Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the construction process, ensuring minimal disruption to the project schedule.
- Adapt to unforeseen challenges and make timely, informed decisions to keep the project on track.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in heavy civil construction project management.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale heavy civil projects, such as highways, bridges, dams, or large infrastructure projects (CDOT preferred).
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and materials.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and construction management software (e.g., Procore).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines.
- Knowledge of relevant safety regulations, environmental laws, and building codes.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or similar is preferred.
Salary : $100,000 - $150,000
