Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Civil Construction Superintendent to oversee large-scale heavy civil construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing complex infrastructure projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and with the highest safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- On-Site Management: Supervise and manage all on-site construction activities for large-scale heavy civil projects, including highways, bridges, earthworks, and utilities.
- Team Leadership: Lead and coordinate the efforts of project teams, including subcontractors, equipment operators, laborers, and field engineers, ensuring efficient workflow and resource allocation.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure full compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and project-specific safety plans. Conduct daily safety meetings and site inspections to maintain a safe and hazard-free job site.
- Schedule Management: Develop and maintain detailed construction schedules, ensuring that key milestones are met and that the project is completed on time. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to prevent delays.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all work is performed to the highest standards of quality, in accordance with project specifications, engineering drawings, and industry best practices.
- Problem Solving: Identify and address potential challenges or issues on-site. Implement corrective actions promptly to ensure project goals are met.
- Resource Management: Manage equipment, materials, and personnel to ensure maximum efficiency and minimal downtime. Communicate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and supplies.
- Client & Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the on-site point of contact for clients, engineers, and inspectors. Ensure clear, proactive communication and address concerns or issues in a timely manner.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate daily reports, logs, and documentation of project progress. Ensure that all project documentation, including time sheets and equipment logs, is completed and submitted on time.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction, with a focus on large-scale infrastructure projects (e.g., highways, bridges, utilities, earthwork).
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is a plus.
- Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of heavy civil construction techniques, materials, and equipment.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple crews and subcontractors.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing conditions and project demands.
- Proficiency with construction management software and tools (e.g., Procore, HCSS).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, blueprints, and specifications.
- Certifications: OSHA 30-hour certification is required. Additional certifications such as First Aid/CPR, and other safety certifications are a plus.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift/carry heavy materials as needed.
Salary : $120,000 - $160,000
