Job Summary: The HVAC Operations Manager will oversee the HVAC division’s operations, from project planning and execution to client satisfaction and team performance. This role requires a strong background in HVAC systems, project management, and team leadership, ideally within an MEP subcontractor setting. The Operations Manager will ensure all projects meet quality, safety, and budget expectations, while optimizing resources and fostering client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Oversee HVAC projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they meet scope, timeline, and budget requirements. Manage all phases, including planning, resource allocation, scheduling, execution, and closeout.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor HVAC project teams, including project managers, field supervisors, and technicians, to foster a culture of safety, quality, and productivity.
- Budgeting & Financial Oversight: Develop and manage project budgets, track expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities. Prepare financial reports, forecasts, and monitor profitability for all HVAC projects.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all installations, maintenance, and repairs meet industry standards, building codes, and client specifications. Implement quality control processes and conduct site inspections regularly.
- Client Relationship Management: Serve as the primary contact for clients, addressing concerns, resolving issues, and ensuring high client satisfaction. Foster long-term relationships for repeat business and referrals.
- Scheduling & Resource Allocation: Develop and manage project schedules, coordinating labor, equipment, and materials to ensure efficient operations. Address any issues that impact project timelines or resource availability.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with safety regulations and company policies. Conduct safety meetings, address job site hazards, and promote a safety-first culture within the division.
- Subcontractor & Vendor Coordination: Manage subcontractors and vendors, reviewing bids, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of materials and services.
- Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate project records, including change orders, job costs, and progress reports. Prepare weekly and monthly performance reports for upper management.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve client satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in HVAC project management, with at least 3 years in an operational or managerial role. Experience with an MEP subcontractor is highly preferred.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred. Relevant work experience may be considered.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in HVAC systems, installation methods, and maintenance practices. Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project) and estimating software.
- Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of industry codes, OSHA regulations, and safety standards in HVAC work.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on efficiency and cost control.
- Certifications: HVAC or Mechanical Contractor’s License, OSHA 30, or Project Management certification (PMP) is a plus.
Salary : $150,000 - $175,000
