As a Project Manager specializing in large commercial HVAC, piping, and plumbing projects, you will be responsible for the planning, execution, and successful completion of these projects. This role requires strong leadership, extensive technical knowledge in mechanical systems, and the ability to coordinate effectively with project teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Coordination:
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with clients, engineers, architects, and subcontractors.
- Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely procurement and delivery of HVAC, piping, and plumbing materials, equipment, and supplies necessary for construction activities.
- Conduct regular site meetings with project teams to review progress, address issues, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track.
Team Management and Leadership:
- Lead and manage project teams, including HVAC, piping, and plumbing engineers, technicians, subcontractors, and support staff, to ensure the successful execution of project goals and objectives.
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, set priorities, and provide guidance and direction to ensure the timely completion of project milestones and deliverables.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, teamwork, and accountability among project team members to promote excellence and drive project success.
Budget and Financial Management:
- Develop detailed project budgets and cost estimates based on project requirements, scope, and specifications.
- Monitor project expenses, track costs against budgetary allocations, and implement cost-control measures to optimize project profitability.
- Review and approve invoices, change orders, and other financial documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with contractual obligations.
Quality Assurance and Control:
- Conduct regular inspections and quality audits of HVAC, piping, and plumbing installations to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and industry standards.
- Address any deficiencies or non-conformities identified during inspections and implement corrective measures to maintain quality and mitigate risks.
- Document and maintain accurate records of HVAC, piping, and plumbing installations, including test reports, as-built drawings, and equipment manuals.
Stakeholder Communication and Relationship Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, communicating regularly with clients, engineers, architects, subcontractors, and suppliers to provide updates on progress, address concerns, and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and project team members to foster collaboration, trust, and positive project outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience (3 years) as a project manager, with a focus on large commercial HVAC, piping, and plumbing projects.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, piping, and plumbing relevant to commercial construction.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid).
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Certification in Project Management (PMP) or similar credentials (preferred).
