We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Traveling Mechanical Construction Project Executive to oversee and manage the execution of commercial and light industrial mechanical projects across the country. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in handling large budgets, managing teams, and driving successful project delivery in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Position Overview:
As a Traveling Mechanical Construction Project Executive, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of large-scale mechanical projects, including HVAC and piping systems. You will work on projects with budgets of $15 million or more, ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. This role will require you to manage and mentor a team of Senior Project Managers and Project Managers while maintaining a consistent travel schedule. The position requires 100% travel—spending two weeks on-site at each project location followed by a long weekend home, with travel back to the site on Monday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of large mechanical HVAC and piping projects on commercial and light industrial sites.
- Budget Management: Ensure all projects are managed within the allocated budget of $15 million , closely monitoring costs and expenditures.
- Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of Senior Project Managers and Project Managers, ensuring clear communication, support, and timely project updates.
- Client Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and other stakeholders, ensuring client satisfaction throughout the project's lifecycle.
- Scheduling and Coordination: Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring all project milestones are met, and resources are allocated effectively.
- Quality Control & Safety: Ensure all work is performed to industry standards, adhering to safety protocols and quality requirements.
- Problem-Solving: Address and resolve any challenges or issues that arise on the project site, including technical, logistical, or personnel-related matters.
- Travel Flexibility: Manage a consistent travel schedule, spending two weeks on-site at project locations with a long weekend at home (Friday to Monday).
Required Qualifications:
- 10 years of experience in mechanical construction project management, with a focus on large HVAC and piping projects.
- Proven track record of managing projects with budgets of $15 million or more.
- Experience working on commercial and light industrial projects.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor a team of Senior Project Managers and Project Managers.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interface with clients, subcontractors, and team members effectively.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work on a 100% travel schedule, including spending two weeks on-site and long weekends home.
- Familiarity with project management software, scheduling tools, and construction management applications.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a hands-on approach to resolving site issues.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or LEED accreditation are a plus.
- Prior experience working with HVAC systems, piping installations, and large mechanical systems in commercial and industrial settings.
