Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Electrical Estimator with a specialization in data centers and mission-critical facilities. This role requires an expert in electrical estimating who can analyze complex project requirements, prepare accurate and competitive bids, and contribute to the successful execution of high-profile projects. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of electrical systems specific to mission-critical environments, including redundancy, backup power, and precision cooling systems.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Estimate Development:
  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for electrical systems in data centers and mission-critical facilities, including power distribution, UPS, backup generators, and low-voltage systems.
  • Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and RFP documents to identify scope and requirements.
  • Analyze and quantify materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Bid Preparation:
  • Develop comprehensive and competitive bid proposals for electrical construction projects.
  • Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving strategies while maintaining quality and compliance with project requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure alignment on scope and approach.
  • Market Research & Vendor Relations:
  • Obtain and evaluate pricing from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure accurate and competitive estimates.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market pricing, and emerging technologies in mission-critical electrical systems.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
  • Work closely with the preconstruction and project management teams to ensure smooth handoffs and alignment with project goals.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on data center and mission-critical electrical systems, advising internal and external stakeholders.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
  • Maintain organized records of all estimates, bids, and project documentation.
  • Provide detailed reports and analysis to support business development and decision-making processes.


Qualifications:

  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience as an electrical estimator, with at least 2 years focused on data centers or mission-critical facilities.
  • Proven track record of successfully estimating and securing large-scale projects with high electrical demands.
  • Technical Knowledge:
  • In-depth understanding of electrical systems for data centers, including redundancy, N 1 configurations, and Tier standards.
  • Familiarity with electrical codes, standards (e.g., NEC, IEEE), and best practices specific to mission-critical environments.
  • Proficiency in electrical estimating software (e.g., Accubid, McCormick) and construction management tools.
  • Skills:
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities to work effectively with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Certifications:
  • LEED Accreditation or other sustainability certifications are a plus.
  • Professional Estimator Certification (e.g., AACE or ASPE) is desirable but not required.

Salary : $120,000 - $150,000
