Pest Control Service Technician needed – Will Train, No experience necessary.

Note: This is role is an Independent Contractor -1099 Position

About us:

Diamond Pest Control - Has been family owned and operating in south central Wisconsin for 10 busy years. We are a well-established and respected company in the industry despite being a small startup company. This means we’re a young self-funded company with a home-based office, things are changing on the fly, etc. We’re figuring things out as we go, and we need someone who's cool with that. We’ve been experiencing enough growth to warrant onboarding a new employee for this busy Summer & Autumn season. To succeed in this role you should be comfortable wearing many hats – ie, Service Technician, Customer Service, Pest Control Guru, Sales, etc. This is a high-energy, fast-paced, interactive position that will be enjoyable for a punctual, hard-working, motivated, and goal-oriented individual. The more you get done in your day, the more money you’ll make.

It would be amazing if you already have a pest control license and experience, but we’re more than willing to train and license the right person. That being said, here’s what you DO need.

Requirements:

• Customer service experience (sales or marketing experience is a huge plus )
• Minimum 18 yrs of age. (21 preferred)
• Must Possess Valid Wisconsin driver’s license & Clean DMV record.
• Must pass a drug screening, physical and background check.
• Minimum of a High School Diploma. (some college preferred)
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Has a smart phone with data package (preferred)
• Comfortable working in a constantly changing start-up environment
• Proven track record of dependability, punctuality, & effective communications.
• Clean cut, business-casual appearance
• Comfortable working as a 1099 contractor.

About the Job (please read)

The role we’re aiming to fill - Is that of a part time, more or less ON-CALL pest control technician and sales rep.

We’re growing slowly but surely, and need to have somebody available as the growth continues and our marketing efforts ramp up. At first the workload will be relatively light. So you have to be okay with that. We need somebody on a part time basis helping here and there… We can’t guarantee any number of jobs or accounts at the very start, but what we CAN Guarantee, is the ability to Sell, and convert new clients.

We will train to you be state certified, which will take time for you to study, schedule, and pass the state issued test - But you’ll be able to start selling and earning commission right away on any new customer that you get.

You can choose to go door to door.

We will assign you a region to go and hand out flyers, etc.

You can clover leaf with flyers around our pre-existing accounts,

You can tell your friends & family etc. however you’d like to drive yourself the opportunity to getting new business,

And you earn a commission on all new services.

Beyond that, as our workload increases and we can delegate jobs and accounts to you, it will look like this.

What the role entails:

• Fulfilling Pre-set appointments with your clients daily.
• Engaging with the clients in a personable manner to meet, address, and exceed their needs.
• Evaluate the conditions of a problem, and Implement appropriate solutions, or plans of action. Lots of thinking on your toes.
• You'll need to learn to use a smartphone application to record your completed jobs, locations, payments, etc.
• Responding to service calls, "schmoozing" customers sometimes, etc.
• Following directions; finish all assigned tasks and obligations in a timely fashion.
• Expanding and growing your route by “Cloverleafing” Capturing new leads, sales, and clients by reaching out & marketing the area around existing customers.
• Regularly Stocking, maintaining, and keeping up the company-provided vehicle.

Compensation / Perks

• Percentage-based commission on new accounts and new deals.
• New accounts earn a high percentage (up to 50 percent if you close the deal And do the service)
• Sales themselves earn a standard commission, and so does recurring services of pre-existing accounts.
• At this time we are not offering a benefits package, as we’re an early stage company, but likely in the future, this will be happening.
• The perks really lie in the fact that we’re still a small company, it’s pretty chill at times. You’ll really have the power to make your own schedule so long as you get your work done, you get a company truck, and you get your “in” at the ground floor of a rapidly expanding startup company.

We need someone not afraid to get their hands dirty, not afraid to step up, work hard, and demonstrate leadership, as this will very likely develop into a leadership role in the future, but also someone who’s a great people person; someone who you’d have no problem striking up and maintaining a conversation with at random. A large percentage of the job is interacting with our customers, and you’ll be the face of the brand- so presentation, attitude, and people skills are everything.
