What are the responsibilities and job description for the Civil Estimator - FC position at Diamond Ridge Construction?
Site Utility and Mass Earthwork contractor based out of Yorkville, IL. We service clients in multiple sectors of the construction Industry from Private, DOT, Industrial, Landfill, to Residential. We are committed to our core values and being the preferred contractor by choice. We are currently looking for a Civil Estimator to join our growing team.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Evaluate project sites and plans to provide estimates and bids for earthwork, roadway, site preparation, underground utilities, and drainage systems.
- Work closely with the construction project manager and chief estimator to oversee and coordinate the bid process for vendors and subcontractors.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and conduct site visits.
- Estimate time, labor, construction materials, and costs to determine overall cost for construction projects.
- Produce written proposals, cost estimates, budgets, and updates for clients and project managers.
- Analyze and provide accurate takeoff information for earthwork and underground utilities with a detailed list of materials and total construction costs.
- Solicit subcontractor, vendor, and equipment supplier information and pricing.
- Review and estimate change orders and other cost impacts.
- Follow up with clients on submitted proposals and budgets.
Applicants should possess:
- A “can-do” positive attitude.
- Strong people skills.
- 2 years’ experience in civil construction estimating preferred.
- Working knowledge in B2W software and AGTEK is preferred.
- Strong math skills and experience in Microsoft Excel, Word and Project is required.
- Understanding of construction documents and construction costs, materials and procedures required.
- Excellent communication, problem solving and attention to detail is essential.
- Ability to meet critical deadlines and produce accurate estimates under pressure is required.
