What are the responsibilities and job description for the Estimator- FC position at Diamond Ridge Construction?
Qualified candidates should have at least 3-5 years experience in electrical construction. Prospective candidates should have experience estimating both large- and small-scale jobs. Applicants should have strong communication skills and timely follow-ups. Be able to work individually as well as in a team setting.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Proactive, flexible, team player who is comfortable working in a small company environment and taking on a leadership role
- Analyzing required documents, blueprints, specifications and project plans to gain a thorough understanding of the project
- Perform accurate and through takeoffs
- Prepare estimates with current software, particularly Accubid
- Proficient with Microsoft office with a focus on Sharepoint, Microsoft Project, and Excel
- Prepare detailed schedules, look aheads, and other deliverables as customer needs
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risk to the company
- Develop and maintain relationships with company vendors and contractors
- Compiling and recording actual costs, utilize historical data to effectively bid the competition as well as the project
- Manage time effectively and prioritize according to importance of tasks, meet deadlines and project milestones
- Prepare written proposals, cost estimates, budgets, and updates for the client and the project managers
- Attend pre bid meetings, construction kickoffs, site visits, status updates, etc. as customer requires
- Research and acquire subcontractors, vendors, partners as project dictates, negotiate favorable terms with vendors
- Aiding in managing interim payments to sub-contractors
