We are a rapidly growing, team-oriented company looking to grow our workforce by hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator for Highway Grinder.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Grinder operators drive a large machine which is equipped with several diamond blades underneath it. An operator will manipulate levers to adjust the settings in order to grind the appropriate amount off the surface. Grinder operators are required to have a CDL A license (with tanker endorsement) as our machines are hooked directly to a semi tractor to be mobilized on and off project sites as well as over the road from one job location to the next.
- Training will be provided for operation of our Highway Grinder.
- Must be able to operate proficiently and with minimal supervision once trained.
- CDL A required to move Highway Grinder
- Have a high level of communication and awareness of where other workers are on the job site at all times.
- Inspect and maintain equipment routinely.
- Manipulate the machine's levers with a great deal of coordination.

QUALIFICATIONS/JOB SKILLS:
- Must have experience operating heavy machinery - excavators, backhoes, loaders, etc.
- Must have a valid Class A driver's license with tanker endorsement.
- Must be able to maintain ELogs.
- Must have the ability to make decisions in difficult situations.
- Must have some mechanical ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Ability to life 50lbs or more as needed
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Must be able to stay with equipment for long periods of time
- Ability to climb or crawl on equipment occasionally and on the ground to work on equipment
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Outside environment, exposure to all weather conditions and temperature extremes. Site specific exposure to various materials requiring proper use of Personal Protective Equipment. Noise levels are site specific and may be subject to PPE.
- Extensive travel, potentially weeks to months at a time, and extended hours. Our shop is based in Big Lake, MN
- Working day shifts, night shifts or a combination of both
