Diamond USA, a leading manufacturer of Fiber Optic Solutions seeks a Lead Mechanical Technician for its Manufacturing facility in Billerica, MA.
LEAD MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN
This person will perform specialized assembly of fiber optics components and assemblies of considerable complexity related to the medical, space and military fields. Conducts optical and mechanical tests on fiber optic components and assemblies, and will work from specifications, technical manuals, schematics and written or verbal instructions.
Responsibilities:
· Monitor and lead production activities on a day to day basis
· Interface with Engineering
· Test and troubleshoot using high end measurement equipment
· Training of hourly assemblers
· Repair and perform preventative maintenance on production equipment
· Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions
· Prototyping to production hand off
Requirements:
· At least 3 years of relevant experience
· Good interpersonal and strong communications skills
· Must be capable to manage, lead, and prioritize daily jobs, tasks and assemblers
· Ability to define problems/ collect data/ and draw conclusions
· Hands on experience with test /measurement equipment and hand tools
· Ability to read drawings, sketches
· Troubleshooting & analytical skills a must
· Machine maintenance and repair of production equipment
· Machining a plus
· United States Citizen or Permanent Resident
