Diamond West Construction is a General Contracting construction company located in Scottsdale, AZ. Serving a wide area from Cave Creek to Chandler with continued growth. We specialize in custom Residential, Commercial work, and Communications. We are looking to hire a Full-time Controller. Diamond West Construction is a very tight knit team and we are looking for a person that wants longevity within our company.
Construction Controller Outline:
- Positive attitude
- Prepare and review financial statements and review balance sheet reconciliations
- Bill payment
- Payroll
- Work with project managers for job forecasting
- Regulatory reporting, including tax and insurance reports and compliance
- Subcontractor processing
- Assess and implement accounting process updates and procedures
- Manage the accounting dept., including monthly financial preparation and analysis.
- Adhere and manage process driven accounting.
- Match invoices to purchase orders.
- Manage vendor relationships, ensuring timely payments and compliance.
- Handle customer invoicing and maintain accurate financial records.
- Proven construction industry experience.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with staff and customers.
- Hands on candidate that is able to perform in a fast-paced environment.

- Provide comprehensive financial updates to the Executive team by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data points
- Guide financial decisions by applying company policies and procedures to current economic landscape
- Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines
- Achieve budgeting goals with proper scheduling, analysis, and corrective actions
- Help develop and support short- and long-term operational strategies
- Maintain internal safeguards for revenue receipts, costs, and team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures
- Establish financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on biweekly, monthly, and annual basis
- Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows
Qualifications:
- 5 years of construction cost accounting experience required, preferably with a medium to large general contractor.
- QuickBooks experience required
- Procore software knowledge preferred
- CPA preferred
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Ideal Candidate:
- Five or more years of construction accounting experience
· The ideal candidate will have experience as an accountant in construction. As a strong communicator and skilled financial analyst, this person will streamline our budgeting and financial reporting processes. The controller will also produce thorough financial-status reports.
