Job Description:
We are seeking candidates for an Assistant Controller position. We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented, senior-level professional to perform and coordinate accounting and finance duties within our company. Responsibilities:
- Perform general bookkeeping tasks such as verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions, monitoring accounts receivable, and directing accounts payable.
- Posting monthly journal entries, including, but not limited to prepaid, intercompany, and accruals.

Support month, quarter, and year-end close processes, including, but not limited to:
- Perform monthly bank, credit card, general ledger, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Perform trailing profit and loss reviews.
- Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and statement of cash flows.
- Prepare monthly budget-to-actual and forecast reports.
- Prepare annual operating budgets
- Prepare quarterly lender required covenant compliance certificates.
- Prepare and monitor other monthly financial and operational analyses reports.
- Coordinate, assist and manage annual audit and tax return preparations.
- Maintain, review, and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.
- Performing other accounting and finance duties and managing AR, AP and Payroll staff as required or assigned.
- Ongoing correspondence with regulatory and state agencies regarding compliance, formation, assembling information, etc.
- Work closely with business teams at portfolio companies to ensure all required financial statements, receipts, invoices, ledgers, etc. are received on time and accurate.
- Regularly update & maintain communication with portfolio companies, vendors, service providers, lender, counsel, investors, etc.
- Assist with other related ad-hoc projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or other advanced degree in accounting required.
- 3 years of audit and/or accounting experience required.
- Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Microsoft Excel proficiency is required.
- High degree of accuracy and attention-to-detail.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Proactively communicates with colleagues and leadership on status and issues.
- Keen organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Strong verbal communication skills, business writing proficiency, and data entry skills.
- Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Comfortable handling confidential information.
- Desire to be a part of a small, entrepreneurial, energetic management team.
Compensation: Starting at $85,000, depending on experience.
