Material Handler

Position Title: Material Handler

Shift: 1:30PM-12AM

• Monday-Thursday 10 hour days
• Potential for mandatory 8 hour OT on Friday's
• NO WEEKENDS

Pay Rate: Starting at $16 (Dependent upon experience) Plus $1 shift differential

Reports to: Warehouse Supervisor

Position Summary:

The Material Handling is personally responsible for the effective management of raw materials and finished goods through physical and database methods to maintain levels required by production on a daily basis to meet demands. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

Tasks/ Responsibilities including but not limited to:

· Enter data for quantities of materials issued and transferred between locations, inventory and cycle count adjustments into Scanner database.

· Respond to the various departments within the organization who may need assistance with Raw material.

· Troubleshoot quantity discrepancies with manufacturing and inspection personnel.

· Record and monitor all items with shelf-life daily and notify appropriate personnel when material has expired.

· Prepare monthly reports for cycle count and pick-lists count for monthly highlights.

· Prepare and participate in yearly physical inventory.

· Prepare material requisition for production

· Pulling material in/ out of the room as needed.

· Collecting crushing/ discarding cardboard throughout the shift.

· Wrapping skids and collecting damaged skids.

· Moving materials through out the warehouse and in scanner database.

Education and Experience

• A high school diploma or a GED.
• One or more years of related experience and/or training.
• Forklift Operator Certification
• Experience in warehousing, receiving, inventory control, or material management in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Most work will be indoors with limited exposure to outside elements. This job operates in a manufacturing production environment. While this role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines a majority of role will be time spent on the Production floor and in the Warehouse tracking projects and components, so appropriate dress and safety requirements must be adhered to at all times. This position requires consistent and positive interaction with internal staff and management
