JOB SUMMARY:

Ensures the protection of the company’s assets, compliance with gaming regulations, and the safety of guests and employees.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitors activities in casino and surrounding areas via CCTV observations. Detects any theft, cheating, and unusual, irregular, or illegal activities. Reports incidents via proper channels.
  • Conducts investigations via the monitoring room, special requests and directives by su-pervisors, Assistant Director, Director, Assistant General Manager, General Manager, or other departments. Reports findings via proper channels.
  • Maintains proper tape control. Maintains proper log control, including daily activity log, equipment repair log, tape control log, access log, incident report log, master security tape log, and others as necessary.
  • Performs related work as required or directed.
Requirements:

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Minimum 3 years Surveillance or Gaming experience
  • Must speak English
  • Ability to speak and write proficiently in logs, reports, or verbal reports
  • Gaming Commission hiring requirements
  • Cannot be related to, or close friends with, employees in any money-handling area
  • Casual dress
  • Takes own initiative to stay current on changing cheating scams, trends, etc., via the Gaming website, internet, or classes.
  • Ability to work alone
  • Ability to troubleshoot CCTV and equipment malfunctions
  • Knowledge of all casino games, their procedures, how they are dealt and played; of slot operations and procedures; of cage operations and procedures including hard count and soft count.
  • Ability to ensure adherence to procedures and to identify cheating scams, and theft from interior or exterior sources.
  • Knowledge of department procedures, casino policies, and gaming regulations.
  • Ability to recognize unsafe conditions.
  • Working knowledge of the operation of surveillance equipment.
  • Ability and willingness to carry out directives, and perform tasks accordingly.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 3 years Casino Surveillance experience

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information one-on-one and in small group situations or to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers, and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American currency, weight measurement, volume and distance.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
