Job Summary
The Patient Transporter plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of patients within the healthcare facility. The Patient Transporter will assist patients in transferring between various departments, including but not limited to, radiology, surgery, and critical care units.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport patients to and from various locations within the hospital or healthcare facility.
- Assist patients with mobility needs, ensuring comfort and dignity during transport.
- Monitor and report any changes in a patient's condition during transportation.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient transfers.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of transport equipment and vehicles.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, including infection control measures.
- Provide basic life support as needed and be prepared for emergency situations.
- Ensure timely transport of patients to minimize delays in care.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in patient care or home community care is preferred.
- Familiarity with hospital settings, particularly in critical care transport, is advantageous.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required or must be obtained within a specified time frame after hiring.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols diligently.
- Physical stamina to assist patients and perform necessary lifting or moving tasks.
- A compassionate demeanor with a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
