Diana's Playpen Of Little Geniuses in Chicago, IL is looking for teacher and teacher assistants to join our Head Start and Early Head Start team. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, punctual, and engaged.
The Early Head Start/ Head Start Assistant Teacher assists the Head Start/ Early Head start Teacher in providing effective instructional strategies, classroom management, learning, assessment, evaluation, and related research for children ages 15 months to 36 months and 3-5 years old. The Head Start/ Early Head Start Assistant Teacher is responsible for assisting the Head Start / Early Head Start Teacher in providing developmentally appropriate learning experiences, supervision of children assigned in the classroom, and providing a supportive and positive classroom climate, while ensuring the individual needs of the children are met as mandated by Head Start, federal, state and local standards.
Requirements:
Assistant Teacher: Associate’s Degree in Child Development/Early Childhood Education or related field, with a minimum of 15 college credit hours in early childhood education Bachelors in a related area with 30 ECE hours needed to qualify as a Teacher; 2 years of early childhood education experience desirable; 1 years of experience working with assigned age group desirable.

Must meet annual physical requirements Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and experience with database and/or record-keeping software Computer literacy required; must be able to navigate basic computer functions, complete online training's and communicate by email independently Ability to read, comprehend and interpret documents such as policies and procedures Demonstrated understanding of child growth and development Ability to build rapport with children, parents and families.
